Home at Last!

Allison and Daniel enjoy their new Habitat home. Many thanks to Megan Broome of The Clayton Tribune for this photo.

Daniel and I are happy to announce that we can call Idlywild Lane in Tiger, GA home. We are so happy to have a place that was built with us in mind. It wouldn't have been possible without Habitat of Rabun County!

We know that this build was a bit different this time since it is an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant home (not to mention the pandemic). Still, everyone was on board and made it happen!

Suppose Daniel and I were not allowed to work with Habitat. In that case, I can confidently say that buying a home and modifying it or building a home for my needs would be a financial struggle for us. But since Habitat's mission is to provide affordable housing, our dream of becoming homeowners was made into reality.

On June 5, 2021, Daniel and I opened our home to the Habitat board, volunteers and donors. It was a wonderful day having everyone involved at the house to see the final results of their efforts,

Daniel and I were ecstatic to have this opportunity. We want more families in our community to have what we had. Would you please support Habitat Rabun in providing families with affordable housing and making dreams come true?

If you haven't done so yet, visit the online auction, buy your raffle tickets for a chance to win a beach getaway or a 50/50 prize, and buy a ticket to attend a Raise the Roof event. You can do all that here.

Your support builds more than a home; it builds a village.
